The characters are perfectly developed and brilliantly executed by some great performances. Secondly, The vibe of the screenplay and the southern charm which is portrayed perfectly. The film might be about good ol' boys but it is very much a gangster film. I compare it a bit to "Public Enemies", "Cop Land" and "Legends of the Fall" but its overall balance of character depth, performances and direction make it it outshine them all.
